Genuine Lever Bros 'Persil Biological Action ~ Micro System' Storage Tin The Eco-Bag Campaign: Lever Brothers originally introduced this reusable metal storage tin in the UK in 1993. It was launched alongside their new concentrated laundry powder "Refill" packets—marketed as the "Eco-Bag". Purpose: The tin was designed as a durable, permanent container. Customers would buy it once and then repeatedly refill it with flexible plastic Eco-Bags to keep the powder dry, minimize household clutter, and reduce cardboard waste. Design Variations: While this biological formula features the distinctive green lid and matching accent lines, Lever also produced an identical version with a light blue lid and matching blue accents for their Non-Biological variant. As a Collector of Household UK Advertising for Food​/​Homewares I've only used this as a display-piece in my Kitchen - there's some fading to the lettering to one side of the tin & the lettering to the lid has also lost part of its original colouring - as shown in photos - but still a magnificent piece for Collectors of Kitchenalia items, Advertising or Prop Suppliers. Lever Bros were ahead of their time when they attempted to introduce reusable items.
