Rare Signed Ltd Edition Print RY Britannia 'Farewell London' 193​/​850 A poignant limited edition print marking the final departure of HM Yacht Britannia from London on 21st November 1997, as she passes through a raised Tower Bridge flying her decommissioning pennant, bound for retirement after 44 years of royal service. Created by acclaimed architectural illustrator George Alexander Murray (RCA, NDD) commissions include Arup Associates, Sir Robert McAlpine and Marks & Spencer; also illustrated the Booker Prize-winning novel Offshore by Penelope Fitzgerald. Pencil-signed by the artist and hand-numbered 193 from a limited edition of 850. This edition is understood to have been produced to mark Britannia's decommissioning and offered to former officers and crew who served aboard her which is why examples rarely appear on the open market. Professionally mounted and framed (Roseberry Studio, 2002). Excellent condition throughout.
