Bold and impressive earrings, these were presented to me without backs, and were too beautiful not to take. I have dealt in semi-precious jewellery for some years and know when I see a good thing. The earrings are not marked, which means I cannot sell them as sterling silver, however, my own observations show they are very high quality solid silver. The backs which I've added are sterling silver. The style is typical of the Nevajo tribe due to the silver inlay positioned between the stone inlay. On first glance they looked to me like enamel (which I love) but further inspection shows they are semi-precious stones. The white section is mother of pearl and the black looks like jet. I can't be sure what the turquoise and blue colour sections are, it seems to be some kind of shell, but could be turquoise. These earrings have some age to them, showing tarnishing to the silver and a repair that can be seen from the back which I have shown in the photos. They are a fascinating pair which would make a beautiful addition to any collection.
