Rare Signed Ltd Edition Print – RY Britannia 'Farewell London' 193/850 A poignant limited edition print marking the final departure of HM Yacht Britannia from London on 21st November 1997, as she passes through a raised Tower Bridge flying her decommissioning pennant, bound for retirement after 44 years of royal service. Created by acclaimed architectural illustrator George Alexander Murray (RCA, NDD) — commissions include Arup Associates, Sir Robert McAlpine and Marks & Spencer; also illustrated the Booker Prize-winning novel Offshore by Penelope Fitzgerald. Pencil-signed by the artist and hand-numbered 193 from a limited edition of 850. This edition is understood to have been produced to mark Britannia's decommissioning and offered to former officers and crew who served aboard her — which is why examples rarely appear on the open market. Professionally mounted and framed (Roseberry Studio, 2002). Excellent condition throughout.
