About Second Chance Sales Second Chance was created to give people with physical and mental health challenges the opportunity to demonstrate to the wider community that, while there may be some things we cannot do, we can find new ways to adapt, overcome obstacles, and live as independently and fully as possible. We take Items and Clothing and transform them into practical products that can help other members of the disabled community make everyday life a little easier and give them greater independence, from wearing clothing that can be adapted to each individual persons need to utensils and equipment to change the possibilities of not being able to do a task to being able to having a Second Chance. Alongside this, we provide opportunities for people to learn valuable every day and workplace skills, helping them build confidence, gain experience, and prepare for future employment with other organisations and when they are ready having a network of support in place and not just leaving them and forgetting about them. Second-hand items that are donated that cannot be adapted, or those that are more valuable in their original condition, are carefully cleaned, repaired, and sold. The proceeds help fund our work, allowing us to continue supporting more people of all ages through training, skills development, and employment opportunities. At Second Chance, we believe that disability does not define a person's potential. Whatever label society may place on us, we know that people with disabilities and health conditions have valuable skills, talents, and experiences to offer. All we need is the opportunity—a Second Chance—to show what we can achieve.
